Madulammoho’s House manager of Fleurof Views, Thembalabo ‘Kiro’ Febana has been practicing karate since the age of 15. After mastering the sport he became a Sensei in 1996. Currently, he is a Sensei at both at Madulammoho Karate Dojo at BG Alexander in Hillbrow, as well as Kiro’s Karate Club at the Rhode Park Bowling Club in Kensington.
On June 9th, students from both of Sensei Kiro’s clubs competed in the Johannesburg Regional Trials held at Orlando Community Hall. During this competition five of his students earned medals; two of which are from the Madulammoho project BG Alexander. Nontuthuzelo Chithani, a 13 year old girl, who practices at the Madulammoho Karate Dojo, won a gold medal for kumite in the U/40 kg division. Nthabiseng Sibanda a 15 year old girl, who also trains at Madulammoho Karate Dojo, won a gold medal for kumite in the U/50 kg.
Enjoy two stages of entertainment, a beer garden, game zone and chill zone.
All five of these will be competing on behalf of the region at the Gauteng Championships on the 28th of July at Communal Hall in Soweto. We wish them luck! If you are interested in joining please contact Madulammoho’s Head Office.
