June 2011 Update

Esselen Heights

Madulammoho accepted a design proposal for Esselen Heights from Anca Szalavicz, Architect and Urban Designer, ASA Architects. This 11 storey building consists of 42 two bedroom and 54 bachelor apartments.

  • H L Wattrus and Associates Professional Land Surveyors completed the required land survey.
  • Nino Welland, P. Eng, Moore Spence Jones (Pty) Ltd. will perform the geotechnical survey and report.
  • When results from the geotechnical engineer have been received, detailed cost analysis and project feasibility studies will be performed.
  • Madulammoho plans to submit the RCG (Restructuring Capital Grant) application for this project in 2012.

Esselen Heights

Fleurhof Views

Madulammoho’s application for Restructuring Capital Grant (RCG) funding from Social Housing Regulatory Authority (SHRA) for 286 self-contained units in Fleurhof Views has been approved.

Fleurhof Views is located on Main Reef Road and consists of 96 bachelors and 190 two bedroom units.

  • Construction at the Fleurhof site is progressing well. Madulammoho had its first site meeting on June 7, 2011.
  • Frequent site visits occur to monitor progress and quality control on site.
  • Madulammoho investigated the use of heat pumps vs. conventional geysers in an effort to conserve energy.
  • Madulammoho’s main motivation is to lower the monthly cost that tenants pay for hot water.
  • Heat pumps can offer a saving of 60% when compared to conventional geysers.

Jabulani Views

Madulammoho’s application for Restructuring Capital Grant (RCG) funding from Social Housing Regulatory Authority (SHRA) for 100 bachelor and 200 two bedroom units in Jabulani Views has been approved.

  • Jabulani Views and Fleurhof Views share a similar design and management approach.
  • Jabulani Views is conveniently located next to the main BRT route running through Soweto, the Jabulani Mall, sports grounds and an amphitheater.
