Psl Event

Madulammoho attended the PSL Event held by The Bidvest Academy and Wits Univeristy

The academy has helped many kids in Hiillbrow in terms of "taking them off the streets"  It is a place they can go to after school, and have a sense of security, they have great coaches that treat them with the utmost respect and show them sincere love. Here's what the kids have to say about the advantage of the grounds they can play on sponsored by the Bidvest Academy and Wits University

Eunice aged 11, (lives at BG Alexander, one of Madulammoho's projects) says, "I love that we can come here after school, I love my coach, he has taught me many things and helped me with my soccer skills. My favourite overseas soccer team is Argentina, and at home it is Pirates"

Sephima Dube aged 11, "I love the that our coach always supports us and tells us to always go to school, education is important! I love soccer with all my heart"

Not forgetting our young girls also have talent and a passion for soccer!!! Nomfundo aged 15, "this programme has helped me a lot, I no longer sit outside the flat doing nothing, I am able to go down to the grounds and meet new people, I am also keeping fit. Coach Archie, has taught me a lot about soccer and also personal behaviour, how to talk to people, have respect for elders and for myself. When I complete my schooling I want to study management of tourism, in the marketing sector

Cassandra aged 15,  "we used to play soccer on the pavements, which was not safe for us, now we have a place to go and feel safe and do what we enjoy most Play Soccer!!My dreams of becoming a pc. engineer is guaranteed, because of her coach, he believes in them as kids of success, not just kids of Hillbrow!!!"

Aleshia aged 15, I live across from town, but I come everyday for practise sessions, I love soccer, it is my passion. When I grow up I want to go into marketing"

One of the coaches that are helping to change lives of our younger generation, Mike Soko, he is a community coach, he coaches at The House (A shelter for for gilrls based in Hillbrow) he is also a coach at the Nkosi Haven. Many years ago he played for Highlands Park in Balfour Park, and was the only black player on the team. One of hios other achievements is that he played for Orlando Pirates, and still supports them 100% to this day. He believes in the kids as many of them never kicked a ball before hearing about the acedemy and now they are phenomenal players. Coaching girls is very different from coaching boys, girls are very emotional and have to be dealt with carefully he laughs... These kids come from the streets and need love and guidance, I teach them the basics of life, and help them realise their dreams and expectations can come true.
