Slumlords currently control the lower end of the rental market in Johannesburg. MADULAMOHO was established to challenge the status quo by providing sustainable, affordable housing units for Tenant earning between R1500 and R3500 per month in the Transitional and Communal Housing Sector

In response to the growing need and demand for rental accommodation at the lower end of the Social Housing Sector, MADULAMOHO is seeking to grow Communal Housing. Essentially this will capture the working people who earn between R1 500 and R3 500 per month, probably with one or more dependents, who are able and keen to pay rent at the rate at which they can afford. This accommodation will allow the residents to have a private room with communal spaces such as bathrooms (gender specific); kitchen; outdoor area for recreation purposes (wherever possible); lounge and dining room.
