· Cornelius House was purchased in 1996. This four-storey building was transformed from a building designed for light industrial usage into living accommodation.
· The first floor was set up as communal spaces, namely, a kitchen, lounge, dining room, as well as a meeting / training room.
· Accommodation for couples and families was built on the second and third floors (67 units).
· The fourth floor was transformed in 2002 into larger and better family rooms (13 units).
· On the ground floor, the space has been divided up into nine commercial spaces, of which seven currently have tenants.
· The Cornelius House project reached break-even for the first time in July 2002.
· The Trust is still however dependent on donors to cover its overheads.
· The Trust has received funding from the Gauteng Partnership Fund in 2004 to cover its overheads. In return the Trust will need to increase the number of units it owns and manages to 520 within 3 years.
